Sleep 6h 42m shorter than usual
Lunch photo 540 kcal 48g 42g 18g
Movement 7,204 steps from commutes and errands
HRV signal 54 ms recovery holding steady
Dinner ahead 620 kcal adjusted for your 8 p.m. plans

A photo and a message are all it takes. Grio brings all your habits and body data together to shape today’s suggestions

Effortless logging

Snap your food Grio takes it from there

Grio estimates the meal from a photo or a message and logs it. If something looks off, just say so — there is no form to fix.

Patterns

See what your good days have in common

High caffeine, short nights, stressful weeks. Grio surfaces the patterns in your own history, without pretending one signal explains everything.

Progress

Your real week shapes what comes next

Weight, sleep, HRV, movement, and what you actually followed through on stay visible together. The longer you use Grio, the more it builds a health protocol optimized for you.

Movement

However you moved, it counts

Health coaching that survives a real week

Work dinners, short nights, and the days you forget to open the app are part of the plan, not reasons to abandon it.

Easy enough to keep doing

A photo, a message, or connected health data is enough to keep the day in view. Your routine never turns into data entry.

A plan you can talk back to

When a suggestion doesn’t fit, say so. Grio reworks the next step around the schedule, energy, and constraints you actually have.

Tomorrow starts where today left off

What you did, skipped, and noticed today joins the larger pattern. Every week, the coaching fits you a little better.

Real weeks, real follow-through

Less tracking, more of the plan actually happening. Four people, four very different weeks.

It actually knows my day

Every other app repeated the same generic advice no matter what my day looked like. I mention a work dinner once and Grio plans a lighter lunch, and when my condition is off, it reads my body signals and reaches out first. I never have to start from scratch explaining myself.

Just snap a photo and I’m done

No searching and logging foods one by one. I snap it and it’s logged, and if it got something wrong I just say “I only ate half of that” and it fixes it. That’s low enough effort that I keep it up on the busy days.

I’m bulking, and it had no problem with that

Every other app asked me to pick a goal and then only offered me a version of losing weight. I told Grio I was bulking once and it went that direction the same day. It nudges me when I’ve eaten too little, and it counts my lifting days properly.
Marco

It messages me first

I don’t have to remember to open it. It checks in when I’ve gone quiet, and it doesn’t come off as nagging — it’s closer to “rough day?” Less like an app, more like someone in my corner.

Frequently asked questions

What is Grio?

Grio is an AI health coach you can talk to like a friend. Tell it about a meal, workout, weigh-in, or night’s sleep—or send a meal photo—and Grio can log it for you. It brings those records together with biometric data from your wearable, such as sleep and heart rate, to suggest next steps and help you live a healthier life.

How is Grio different from a calorie tracker?

You can log a meal with a photo or message instead of entering every item by hand. Grio also brings meals together with workouts, weight, sleep, and Apple Health data you choose to share, so its coaching can reflect more than what you ate.

Can Grio give me medical advice?

No. Grio offers general wellness guidance, not diagnosis or treatment. If you have symptoms, an injury, a medical condition, or questions about medication, talk to a qualified healthcare professional.

How accurate are nutrition estimates from a meal photo?

Treat the result as a starting estimate, not an exact measurement. Camera angle, portion size, hidden ingredients, sauces, and cooking methods can all affect it. If a food or portion looks wrong, tell Grio in chat and it can update the record.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. You can chat with Grio to log meals, workouts, weight, and sleep without an Apple Watch. If you connect Apple Health, Grio can also use supported data from your iPhone or Apple Watch, within the permissions you grant.

Will Grio message me first?

Yes, if you allow notifications. Grio may check in near a planned workout, when you seem to have missed a meal, or when your day looks more demanding than usual. You can manage notifications in iOS Settings. These are wellness reminders, not medical monitoring or emergency alerts.

How does Grio use my Apple Health data?

Connecting Apple Health is optional. Raw HealthKit records are not uploaded to Grio’s servers or sent to AI models. Grio may use summaries and trends derived from them for coaching, support, and product improvement. It does not sell consumer health data or use HealthKit data for advertising. You can change permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

Can I use Grio now?

Grio is currently in closed beta on iOS, so it isn’t open for public download yet. Join the free waitlist for beta invitations and launch updates.
